AbstractFrom a theoretical point of view it can be expected that by grinding silicates in the presence of organic reagents a chemical reaction takes place between the newly formed surfaces and the organic molecules. Preliminary experiments on grinding of quartz powder in butanol seem to confirm these theoretical considerations.
