Abstract

Use of benzodiazepines for the treatment of insomnia or other sleep disorders in youths and young adults was associated with increased risk of drug overdose compared with other treatments, a cohort study has found. The association with overdose was strongest among individuals with a recent prescription fill for an opioid.
