Abstract

Maloka Saraga dance is a group dance, which is danced by eight female dancers. This study explains and describes the form of the Maloka Saraga dance by Ika Febriani Laksananingtyas and the creative process of Ika Febriani Laksananingtyas. To analyze the form of the Maloka Saraga Dance, the researcher uses the concept of Sumandyo Hadi which includes revealing the basic aspects of group choreography (2003) including (1) dance descriptions; (2) dance title; (3) dance theme; (4) dance movements consisting of motion motifs, repetition or repetition movements, and displacement movements; (5) dance music; (6) mode or manner of presentation; (7) dancers; (8) lighting; (9) dance makeup and costumes; (10) property and equipment. To reveal the creative process of Ika Febriani Laksananingtyas, using the theory of Rhodes quoted by Utami Munandar in his book Creativity and Giftedness which contains four elements, namely person, press, process, and product. The results of this study indicate that the Maloka Saraga dance is the result of the creativity of Ika Febriani Laksananingtyas. The choreographic form of the Maloka Saraga dance cannot be separated from the interrelated forming elements such as dancers, movement, makeup and clothing, music, and visual arrangement. The creative process of the Maloka Saraga dance is supported by its artistic ability, which has artistic talent, experience in the arts, aesthetic sensitivity, professional stability, and is productive.
