Abstract

Summary 1.The fifth case of benign giant duodenal ulcer with adequate data to support such a diagnosis is reported. 2.The' roentgenograms in our patient on several occasions did not separate this type of ulcer from those usually encountered in this locale. 3.The similarity between the mucosa of the superior portion of the duodenum and the lower portion of the stomach is re-emphasized. 4.Attention is called to the marked gross similarity of this type of ulcer to carcinoma. 5.Criteria are proposed defining a giant duodenal ulcer.
