Abstract When Israeli scientists tested vegetables for the epilepsy drug carbamazepine, they detected it in cucumbers, carrots, lettuce, and peppers. More surprisingly, people who ate the vegetables had a surge of the epilepsy drug in their urine—albeit in the nanograms.
