Abstract

Introduction: Long term treatment after heart transplantation (HTX) improved survival, although exercise capacity remained 40% below normal due to cardiac denervation and reduced skeletal muscle function. The role of physical exercise in long term treatment after HTX has not been determined. We analysed the effects of a 3 year supervised and computer assisted home training program on exercise and health related variables.
