Abstract

Cleft lip or cleft palate or both (CL/P) are among the most common birth defects worldwide and are associated with low birth weight and poor growth in short-term and long-term morbidities in these children. Mitigating suboptimal weight at birth, at which complex feeding and nutritional issues will arise in these infants, could have exponential benefit.
