Abstract

A new species of monogenetic trematode collected on July 7, 1936, by Dr. Alden E. Noble at Monterey Bay, California, is described from the gills of the Pacific Coast Rock Fish. The specific determination of the host was made by Dr. Rolf L. Bolin of the Hopkins Marine Station. The specimens were fixed in formalin-alcohol-acetic fluid and were preserved in 70 per cent alcohol. Whole mounts were stained in alum carmine; details of structure not readily observable on whole mounts were taken from frontal sections stained in alum haematoxylin and eosin. The writer wishes to express appreciation for the aid of Dr. Alden E. Noble under whose direction this investigation was made.
