Abstract
AbstractIn the present study, a fifth order shear and normal deformation theory is extended for the bending analysis of laminated composite cylindrical shells. The effect of transverse normal and shear deformations is included to predict the displacement and stresses. The governing equations are derived using principle of virtual work, and solved by using Navier’s technique. The accuracy and efficacy of the present theory is checked by comparing the present results with those available in the literature.KeywordsCylindrical shellLaminated compositeShear deformation
