Abstract

A prototype cavity-backed aperture antenna is the subject of a benchmark between a home-developed “academic” and several commercially available full Maxwell 3-dimensional electromagnetic field solvers. The qualitative simulation results are discussed and compared with the prototype measurements. A quantitative discussion of the involved computational effort in terms of computer speed and memory is also included.
