Abstract

Soybeans are a major grain crop in Brazil, crucial for global food security. However, it faces significant threats from pests like the whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius, 1889) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae). Currently, whitefly control relies heavily on chemical insecticides, leading to an escalation in sprays and the emergence of resistant populations. This study aimed to assess the incidence of whiteflies on different soybean cultivars throughout the crop cycle. Adult whiteflies were counted weekly on soybean leaves, while nymphs were evaluated on leaflets in laboratory conditions. The results revealed that cultivars DM 5958, BMX ZEUS, M 5947, TMG 7262, and DM 66i68 exhibited the highest incidence of B. tabaci.
