Abstract

The determination of the absorbed dose with ionisation chambers is mainly influenced by the energy dependence of the mass stopping power ratio of the phantom material water to the material air of the probe volume. Also the material and dimensions of the ionisation chamber, represented by the pertubation factor, give energy dependent corrections. For a set of standard ionisation chambers this dependence will be presented up to an energy of 45 MV.
