Abstract

Abstract: A 46-year-old male patient with dyspnea and leg edema was referred to our department to rule out pulmonary thromboembolism. His Doppler echocardiography was normal. Lower extremity Doppler ultrasonography revealed thrombosis in his right femoral vein. Computed tomographic angiography showed collaterals compatible with superior and inferior vena cava obstruction. Abdominal computed tomography revealed ascites, dilatation of the azygous and hemiazygous veins, and fatty degeneration in the liver. His hepatic and renal function tests were normal. He underwent a Tc-99m MAA perfusion scintigraphy, which showed a systemic shunt and on follow up, he was diagnosed with Behcet syndrome.
