Abstract
The goal of this literature review is to analyze the relation of family factors with adolescent's behavioral problems. This article examines recent literature regarding family factors and behavioural problems in adolescents, and suggests the family-based interventions that address behavioural problems in adolescence. Previous research has found that family environment influence the behavioral problems in adolescents. Healthy family environment characterized by cohesion, positive communication, affective involvement, emphasis on morals etc., has been found to be associated with positive outcomes in adolescents. Unhealthy family environment characterized by physical and verbal conflict, disengagement, negative communication, harsh discipline, rejection etc., has been found to be associated with increasing behavioral problems in adolescents.
