Abstract

For quantitative behavioural traits, hybrids from crosses between inbred strains of mice often show less variability than the inbred strains themselves. Such hybrids therefore show behavioural homeostasis compared with the inbred strains. In some cases behavioural homeostasis is associated with heterosis.
