Abstract

This study was conducted during 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 seasons toadjust the best date of winter pruning (24th Dec., 31st Dec. or 7th Jan.) as well asvine load levels (66, 72, 78 or 84 eyes/vine) that responsible for gaining higheryield with fairly good berries quality of Superior grapevine cv.Delaying dates of winter pruning from 24th Dec. to 7th Jan. considerablyenhanced the perentages of bud burst and fruiting buds, yield, shot berries%,T.S.S.%, and reducing sugars% and reduced leaf area, wood ripeningcoefficient, total chlorophylls and N, P, K, berry weight and total acidity%. Allthe investigated characteristics except bud burst%, berry weight and totalacidity% were gradually increased with increasing vine loads from 66 to 84eyes/vine.Pruning on 7th Jan. leaving 84 eyes/vine (6 fruiting cane x 12 eyes plus6 renewal spurs x two eyes) gave the best results with regard to productivity ofSuperior grapevine cv.
