Abstract

Carbamate insecticides and carbamate, thiocarbamate, substituted phenylurea, amide, and miscellaneous herbicides, and some fungicides were chromatographed in a liquid-solid system by high-performance liquid chromatography with a silica gel column and ternary mobile phases of acetonitrile, dichloromethane, and heptane. The log k′ values, where k′ is the solute capacity factor, were found to be linear functions of the logarithm of the mole fraction of acetonitrile (Nb) in the respective mobile phases. The slope and y-intercept values of log k′ vs log Nb plots are interpreted in terms of the solute molecular structure.
