Abstract

Combining mental illness, mental well‐being, and substance use disorders (SUDs) in the broad category of behavioral health may work for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, but it's not useful on the ground. Patients with SUDs need treatment professionals trained in that category.
