Abstract

The behavioral effects of chronic administration of phencyclidine (PCP) (1 or 2 mg/kg, i.p., injected every other day) were assessed in kittens which were 5–39 days old. The type of behavioral response produced was age-related. Under 21 days the major drug-induced response consisted of rostrocaudal forelimb movements. After this age the major responses were ataxic locomotion (consisting of walking, staggering and falling) and waxy rigidity.
