Abstract

Journal of Business & Technology (JBT) is an open-access journal published by the Department of the Commerce and Financial Management of the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. The journal follows a double-blind peer-review process and is published bi-annually (January, July). JBT aims to publish scholarly research, critical reviews, case studies, practitioner reviews and technology reviews in the fields of business and technology.

Introduction

Investment decision making has been explored under different contexts but mainly with the rational paradigm. Attention to the deviations from rationality is gaining importance among researchers with the introduction of prospect theory (Kahneman and Tversky ,1979). Prospect theory suggests that behavioural biases play a crucial role in decision making; investment decisions are not always rational. The failure of traditional finance to explain these anomalies and bubbles has led to the development of behavioural finance which is relatively new both in theory and its applications(Kapoor & Prosad, 2017).
