Abstract
A parental history of major depressive disorder (MDD) is a well-established risk factor for adolescent MDD, thus elucidating the mechanisms associated with familial risk transmission is critical. Reward processing abnormalities has emerged as a promising candidate mechanism. The aim of this study was to test behavioral measures of reward responsiveness and underlying frontostriatal resting activity in healthy adolescents with (high-risk) versus without (low-risk) a maternal history of MDD.
