Abstract

The interaction of lightly crosslinked polyelectrolyte hydrogels based on N-isopropylacrylamide copolymers with Alcian Blue in aqueous solutions is studied. The effects of the type and fraction of ionogenic groups of polymer network chains on the behavior of gels in aqueous solutions of the dye are analyzed. Dependences of the degrees of swelling of the gels and absorption of the dye on its concentration are measured. The effect of temperature on the collapse of the gels incubated in dye solutions is examined. It is shown that the temperature of gel collapse and its reversibility depend on the fraction of dye-bonded ionogenic units.
