Abstract
1. It was shown by the1H NMR method that deprotonation of the 2′-OH group of ribose in ATP occurs in the region of pD > 12.5. An estimate was made of pKa of ribose in D2O. 2. The effects of intermolecular interaction in the region of pD > 6.5 were investigated. In deprotonation of the 2′-OH group of ribose, a hydrogen bond is broken between the 2′-OH group of one ATP molecule and the N3 atom of the ring of the other. 3. In associates of ATP in solution at pD < 12.5, the predominant arrangement of the bases is the same as in the crystal of the disodium salt of ATP. 4. Protonation of the N7 atom of the adenine ring occurs in the region of pD 0-1.
