Abstract

Thione and ionized-thiol species were detected in mercaptobenzothiazole adsorbed on a silver electrode by surface-enhanced Raman scattering. The intensity change upon a potential step suggests strong adsorption of the former on the electrode. This compound adsorbs on silver electrode at the expense of pre-adsorbed pyridine.
