Abstract

We study nonlinear dynamics of the asymmetric bistable system described by the general Landau potential in the presence of different noise sources. The corresponding phase diagram was obtained for the potential with the metastable state. The noise was found to change the stability of the metastable system: maximum of bimodal distribution passes into minimum and vice versa while changing one of the correlated noises. As a result, the initially asymmetric system can be reduced to symmetric one.
