Abstract

The instantaneous flow produced by the expansion and twisting of a rigid-plastic orthotropic material between coaxial cylindrical rough surfaces subjected to the maximum friction law is considered under the assumption that the major axes of anisotropy are inclined at an arbitrary angle to the friction surfaces. The solution is reduced to quadratures and analyzed. The behavior of the solution in the vicinity of friction surfaces is compared with the behavior of known solutions for other models of rigid-plastic materials.
