Abstract

Made of 83% copper and 17% tin, the Shang Bronze is considered as “undoubtedly the finest things of their sort in the world.” Creel says: “In fact, they (the Shang bronze ritual vessels) are probably the most exquisite objects which men have ever created from metal, regardless of time or place.” (The Birth of China, p. 108).
