Abstract

This article gives a general review of the planned Phoenix mission which envisions to provide sufficient information about Mars to pave the way for the long term goals of NASA's Mars Exploration Program ultimately allowing human exploration of Mars. This article also overviews current technologies used on the Phoenix Mars Lander as well as a special Phoenix DVD attached on deck. Launched in August 2007 and scheduled to land on the red planet on May 25, 2008, the Phoenix mission's Mars Lander aims to uncover some of the mysteries of Mars.
