Abstract
During in vitro studies of the effect of hydrocortisone (50 mg/ml) and of Locorten (2 mg/ml) upon the growth rate of trichophyton mentagrophytes, trichophyton rubrum, microsporon gypseum and c. albicans neither a stimulating nor inhibiting effect could be demonstrated. Local application of Locorten ointment (Ciba) increased the rate of healing of experimental Trichophyton gypseum asteroides infection in guinea pigs.
