Abstract
Thirty-seven training directors from forensic-focused predoctoral internships participated in this study. More than 75% of respondents reported that it is essential for interns to gain knowledge and experience in administering personality and intelligence assessment instruments before their internship year. It is also important for applicants to have had experience with diverse clinical populations and experience in conducting cognitive-behavioral therapy prior to their doctoral internship. Further, training directors emphasized the importance of maintaining professional boundaries and flexibility while on internship. Recommendations to bolster applicants' chances of matching with forensic-focused internships are discussed.
