Abstract

Fossil raw materials for energy production are becoming more and more depleted, and increasingly expensive. It is possible to manage with alternative energy sources such as renewable biological resources and the utilisation of solar, wind and hydro power, and in the long run these will become important alternatives. But the more efficient way to deal with the energy crisis is to use the available energy more economically. Remarkable savings are possible in many pump applications reports World Pumps correspondent Hans-Jurgen Bittermann from Germany.
