Abstract

In wide-band phased array and array-fed reflector antenna, the traditional phase-shift method causes beam-pointing deviation versus frequency. The excursion of beam-pointing is analyzed for the wide band phased array and array-fed reflector antenna through simulating using beam forming theory in this paper. The theoretical analysis shows that the beam-pointing drift of the planar phased array in azimuth and elevation are independent of the antenna size, and the beam-pointing drift of the array-fed reflector antenna is not superior than the phased array antenna, but it is much easier to compensate the beam-pointing deviation of array-fed reflector antenna.
