Abstract

In this paper, we show the impact of the outer scale on beam wander for laser beam propagation in non-Kolmogorov turbulence. The analysis is based on a new relation between non-Kolmogorov and Kolmogorov structure constants anchored on the outer scale. This approach is based on a measurable physical entity, the outer scale, and it insures the total power of the fluctuations of the refractive index is conserved when the power law changes.
