Beam-foil experiments on lifetime and spectra of highly ionized aluminum ions

Abstract

Beam-foil experiments were carried out in RILAC(RIKEN heavy ion linear accelerator). Decay curves of Al X 2s 2 1S-2s2p 1P and cascade transitions were measured and the lifetime of 2s2p 1P was obtained by the ANDC method, taking into account the cascade transitions. The resulting lifetime is 0.192 ± 0.015 ns. Also, a transition array of Al X 2p3d-2p4f was identified by comparing an experimental spectrum with a theoretically calculated one, and the Slater integrals and parameters of configuration interactions were determined.
