Abstract
'Write something on training, Slop old boy!' the text demanded. It was the number of the esteemed Editor of the Bulletin. Slop took this as a command not to be ignored. Indeed, the Bulletin has long given a voice to each new generation of surgeons' training problems as well as a chance to publish their articles. So Slop got to thinking about the subject. These are his reflections, for what they are worth.
