Abstract
An integrable differential-difference system is proposed which is an extended form of the integrable differential-difference equation found by Hu and Wu (1998 Phys. Lett. A 246 523-9). It is shown that this extended differential-difference system is integrable in the sense of having a Bäcklund transformation and a Lax pair.
