Abstract

Proxy Mobile IPv6 is standardized to provide network-based mobility management for a regular IPv6 mobile node (MN). This paper introduces an extension to Proxy Mobile IPv6 for multi-interface MN. Through extending the binding relationship between Home Network Prefix and Mobile Access Gateway, Local Mobility Anchor can deliver data having the same Home Network Prefix through multiple Mobile Access Gateways. As a result, the multi-interface MN attaching in a Proxy Mobile IPv6 domain can receive data packets of the same application flow simultaneously through its multiple network interfaces attaching to different Mobile Access Gateways. Simulation result reveals that the proposed scheme enables to raise data transmission efficient significantly and then improve user experience.
