Abstract
It's been just over 30 years since the BBC Microcomputer was launched by Acorn Computers in the United Kingdom, an event that inspired a generation of school children to learn about computers and programming at home and in schools. No surprise then that the recent Royal Society report (1) looking into the provision of computer science teaching and assessment in schools opens with mention of the BBC Micro.
