AbstractCommercial Banking (MIC: SIC: 6021 NAIC: 522110)BB&T is a financial holding company. Co. operates mainly via its commercial bank subsidiary, Branch Banking and Trust Co., which provides banking and trust services for retail and commercial clients in its geographic markets, including small and mid‐size businesses, public agencies, local governments and individuals through 1,492 offices at Dec 31 2007. Co.'s operations also consist of several nonbank subsidiaries, which provide financial services that include automobile lending, equipment financing, full‐service securities brokerage, payroll processing, asset management and capital markets services. At Dec 31 2007, Co. had total assets of $132.62 billion and deposits of $86.77 billion.
