Bazı İslami Dergiler Örnekleminde Carl Gustav Jung: Nitel Bir Araştırma
Even during the first establishment of the Republic (with the expression of Balaban), "the science of spirituality (=psychology) that talks about the spiritual existence of man" has always been interesting by the writers of that period. Especially since the 1940s, in some scientific, moral, religious and literary journals published in Turkey, the views of Western psychologists such as Carl Gustav Jung, who are famous in the psychology of religion, were explained. In this research, it has been tried to analyze how C. G. Jung and his views are handled in these journals. The journals discussed in the research are as follows: "Sebilürreşad", "Muslim Voice", "Tawhid", "New Ground", "Orbit", "Academy", "Young", "Cultural World", "Monthly" and "Kur'ani Hayat”. In our research, the approach to Jung and his views in these examined journals was investigated and some results were obtained. Accordingly, Jung has a positive phenomenon accepted by the Islamic community, as some Islamic journals acknowledge that Jung is different from their peers”. All Islamic journals used Jung. Although some criticize Jung to strengthen their own claims by pointing to Jung's authority, he used Jung to "guide his target audience" because he considered it closer to Islamic understanding than his Western counterparts. Islamic journals never used Jung's concepts of "persona", "anima-animus" and "self" in their articles. But they gave a lot of place to Jung's concepts such as "religion", "God", "archetype" and "collective unconscious". Especially since they see the concept of “collective unconscious” as an Islamic value, they have embraced it more. Islamic journals acknowledge Jung as the "authority". While this "authority" is the "strengthener" of its own claims based on some Islamic journals, it is a "model" for some Islamic journals whose aspects should be taken in accordance with their worldview. It is clear that Islamic journals do not have a scientific style and purpose when using Jung. It was concluded that Islamic journals approached Jung's concepts in the form of "ethnocentric" and "circular reasoning". It has emerged that Islamic journals that act with the logic of "Take what works and leave what does not work" and those who defend Islamic psychology are similar to the logic of "take the positive side of the West that fits the Islamic perspective" to Jung and his views. Key Words: Islamic Journals, Carl Gustav Jung, Jung's Views, The Jungian Phenomenon, The Collective Unconscious, Document Analysis.

Freedom of the press is a fundamental part of a democratic system, including in Indonesia. However, in a society that is predominantly Muslim, there are challenges in balancing freedom of the press with Islamic values. One form of Islamic influence on the world of journalism in Indonesia is the fatwa of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) on Islamic journalism. This study aims to analyze how the fatwa regulates journalistic practices, the extent of its influence on press freedom, and the challenges that arise in its implementation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a document analysis method, including a study of the MUI fatwa, press regulations in Indonesia, and related literature. The results of the study show that the MUI fatwa emphasizes the principles of honesty, moral responsibility, and compliance with Islamic teachings in journalistic practice. This fatwa encourages Muslim journalists to present news that is not only accurate but also in accordance with religious norms. Although it does not have binding legal force, this fatwa still has a major influence, especially for Islamic-based media and Muslim journalists. However, this study also found the potential for conflict between the principle of press freedom which prioritizes independence and the principle of Islamic journalism which demands limitations according to religious norms. Therefore, dialogue is needed between stakeholders, such as the MUI, the press, and the government, in order to find a balance between press freedom and Islamic values in journalistic practices in Indonesia.

The phenomenon of clickbait news dissemination in online media has become a serious concern due to its potential influence on readers’ mindsets and behavior, particularly within Muslim communities. This study aims to analyze the impact of clickbait news on readers of PALTV.disway.id in Palembang City from the perspective of Islamic communication. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, utilizing observation, in-depth interviews with active readers, journalists, and religious figures, as well as documentation analysis. The findings indicate that clickbait news frequently leads to information misunderstanding and a decline in the quality of readers’ Islamic understanding, especially when headlines are not aligned with the content. From the perspective of Islamic communication, such practices contradict the principles of ṣidq (truthfulness), tablīgh (transparency), and amānah (trustworthiness) in information dissemination. Another finding reveals an increased level of skepticism toward media outlets that present Islamic issues, driven by the frequent use of provocative headlines unsupported by adequate content. This study highlights the urgency of integrity in Islamic journalism and the importance of media literacy within society. The integration of digital media analysis with Islamic communication principles constitutes the originality of this research. The results are expected to provide practical contributions for media practitioners, government institutions, and da‘wah organizations in formulating more ethical communication strategies, as well as academic contributions to the development of Islamic communication studies in the digital era.

ABSTRACTThis paper explores Jung's concepts regarding art, the significant role of creativity in his notion of individuation, and art's relationship to transformation. As an illustration, it introduces Charlotte Salomon – a German Jewish artist who was murdered in the gas chambers at Auschwitz in 1943 – and her unique surviving opus, Life? or Theater? – a fictionalized autobiographical play-like work of art combining painted images, written words, and music. Applying Jung's theories as a lens, it broadly analyzes Salomon's work and considers it in light of Jung's distinction between psychological and visionary creative modes. In the process I reveal a potential material connection between Salomon and Jung, and argue that Life? or Theater? is not only artistically but also historically relevant to Jungian theory. By exploring Life? or Theater? in this way, my paper proposes that Jungian theory is a potent critical lens which can reveal a work of art's transformative nature and cultural significance.

Jung's writings on schizophrenia are almost completely ignored or forgotten today. The purpose of this paper, along with a follow-up article, is to review the primary themes found in Jung's writings on schizophrenia, and to assess the validity of his theories about the disorder in light of our current knowledge base in the fields of psychopathology, cognitive neuroscience and psychotherapy research. In this article, five themes related to the aetiology and phenomenology of schizophrenia from Jung's writings are discussed:1) abaissement du niveau mental; 2) the complex; 3) mandala imagery; 4) constellation of archetypes and 5) psychological versus toxic aetiology. Reviews of the above areas suggest three conclusions. First, in many ways, Jung's ideas on schizophrenia anticipated much current thinking and data about the disorder. Second, with the recent (re)convergence of psychological and biological approaches to understanding and treating schizophrenia, the pioneering ideas of Jung regarding the importance of both factors and their interaction remain a useful and rich, but still underutilized resource. Finally, a more concerted effort to understand and evaluate the validity of Jung's concepts in terms of evidence from neuroscience could lead both to important advances in analytical psychology and to developments in therapeutic approaches that would extend beyond the treatment of schizophrenia.

The article reveals the fundamental interest of the Swiss psychiatrist and philosopher, the founder of analytical psychology, one of the areas of deep psychology, K. G. Jung (1875–1961) to religion. The authors of the article attempted to consider the issue of religion in light of Jung's theory. In his works, Jung relies on the numinous experience and religious symbols of the soul. The feature of his philosophy is revealing the transcendental aspects of religion. The article considers religion through the main components of Jung's theory: consciousness, religious consciousness, the collective unconscious, archetype, the archetype of God, self, the process of individuation. The authors reveal the peculiarity of Jung's concept of the soul through the religious component. They analyzed Jung's understanding of the psychological roots and foundations of religious consciousness. The article studies Jung's interpretation of God `s image and the consideration of God from the evolution of mankind. It represents the role of archetypes of shadow and person in the manifestation of a person’s religiosity. The authors found interesting Jung's characterization of the bloodshed of religious wars, especially within the framework of Christianity. Jung gives distinction and shows the need to distinguish between the Self and the image of God. The article considers evaluations of Jung's views by his followers which reveal the significance of Jung's ideas for understanding the essence of religion and human religiosity. As a result, we understand both the positive and negative role of religion in human life of the era of globalism.

This paper explores the process of psychological and spiritual development through a series of active imaginations arising from the author's 'psycho-spiritual quest', a process of transformation in which the individual progressively frees themselves from the ego's identifications and may be afforded a vision of the 'self as consciousness', as described by Vedanta. The author describes how this quest was facilitated by the disciplines of Transcendental Meditation, Jungian analysis and Vedanta, and how these three disciplines can work together to foster psycho-spiritual development. The paper aims to de-mystify the actual experiences that can accompany these practices. The records of these active imaginations, tracing some key stages in this process, are then presented, with a commentary by Marcus West, linking them to Jung's concepts of ego and Self and recent understandings of consciousness and ego development. There is a discussion of Jung's conceptualizations of the ego and the Self and his rejection of the Vedantic understanding of the Self as consciousness. These views are then explored and a reconciliation is suggested through the understanding of the process of disidentification where the difference between Jung's view of the Self and that of Vedanta is understood to be due to the extent of disidentification from the contents of consciousness.

The phenomenon of projection, Jung's concept of the self, and the place held by the imago Dei are explored with the aim of showing how these basic concepts of Jung's psychology can be used to explain both the origin of religious experience in the individual and the religious fervour with which leaders and ideologies are followed by invidivuals and society. The thesis shows how Jung's view of the collective unconscious expands the conception of projection to include mythico-religio-politico configurations. It was Jung's opinion that, at the present time, the State and technology are common objects of the projection of the self as imago Dei in the image of a saviour. It is the contention of the thesis that the awareness and withdrawal of these projections is a necessary step towards world peace. The result of the withdrawal of the projection is that one becomes aware of the self as an intrapsychic resource moving the individual to personal wholeness and to expanded empathies toward the whole. The thesis argues this is currently a more desirable religious consciousness.

Islamic journalism has been intensely discussed among Islamic Universities in Indonesia. This study at least can be identified into three models. First, is the study of Islamic journalism as an activity that informs issues, events and phenomena related to Islamic values. Second, is the study of Islamic journalism as an Islamic way and method of journalistic activities. Third, the study of journalism as Islamic principles is the basis for journalistic activities. This study aims to complement the previous studies that gave few concerns to a comprehensive understanding of Islamic journalism, particularly the different concept with journalism studies. This study relies on primary and secondary data using a qualitative descriptive approach. Primary data was taken from Focus Group Discussion (FGD) by inviting 6 heads of the Islamic Journalism Study Program of Islamic Universities, lecturers, practitioners of journalistic and media, alumni, and communication students. At the same time, the secondary data was taken from the academic curriculum of several journalistic programs across the archipelago, namely UIN Walisongo Semarang, UNPAD Bandung, UGM Yogyakarta, UNDIP Semarang, UNAIR Surabaya, UI Jakarta, and other online sources. This study found that each university has uniqueness in formulating its curriculum, especially in integrating the concepts of Journalism and Islam.

A feeling of chaos can accompany many real-life events over which we have little or no control, and latent developmental needs may create tension that manifests in symptoms of depression or anxiety. Particularly at critical life transitions, conflicts may arise which have no obvious solution. From an analytic perspective, recent scientific models from the area of complexity theory can prove illuminating as analogies to Jung's archetypal view of the individuation process. Throughout life, human beings, like many complex, open systems, pass from disordered phases to more complex stages of order. This paper shows how the scientific concept of self-organization can be compared with our physical and psychological developmental processes. From embryology, the model of the 'epigenetic landscape' (C.H. Waddington) is introduced as an analogy to Jung's individuation process, with a clinical example to illustrate these parallels. The emergent nature of behaviour and development is seen from the viewpoint of the organism as a dynamical system, and Jung's concept of the archetype viewed as an emergent property of the activity of the brain/mind.

PurposePrior research has investigated the development of Islamic communities. The authors contribute to this line of research by analyzing the effects of Islamic values and Islamic religious practices on entrepreneurship intentions in Islamic communities. Using theory of planned behavior as a theoretical lens, they also take into account that the relationship between religion and entrepreneurial intentions can be mediated by individual’s attitude toward entrepreneurship.Design/methodology/approachThe authors analyze primary data obtained from a sample of 1,895 Pakistani university students. They also use structural equation modeling to perform a nuanced assessment of the relationship between Islamic values and practices and entrepreneurship intentions and to account for mediating effects.FindingsThe results show that both Islamic values and Islamic practices positively influence entrepreneurship intentions. Both effects are mediated by the attitude toward entrepreneurship.Originality/valueThe authors contribute to prior research on entrepreneurship in Islamic communities by applying a more fine-grained approach to capture the link between religion and entrepreneurship. Further, they contribute to the literature on entrepreneurship intentions by showing that the influence of religion on entrepreneurship intentions is mainly due to religious values and practices, which shape the attitude toward entrepreneurship and thereby influence entrepreneurship intentions in religious communities.

Given that most of the adults’ life is spent in the workplace, and because the quality of working life has a significant effect on family life and community health, it is crucial to study the components involved in the improvement of the workplace and people’s health in the work environment. Therefore, by examining the common literature of Islamic values, spirituality and spiritual health, an attempt has been made in this research to explain organisational values and spiritual health in the management of organisations and to analyse the relationship of these variables with each other in Iraq using an Islamic approach. Similar to any other community, an Islamic community requires management proportional to its specific circumstances. In fact, an Islamic community needs a type of management that intertwines with divine and Islamic values and ethical principles and prioritises Islamic ideals. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the role of organisational values in the improvement of Islamic values of Iraqi Muslims. To this end, 2800 employees selected from 30 oil and chemical compound manufacturing organisations are examined. According to the results, the Islamic values governing the Iraqi organisations play an effective role in the improvement of employees’ spiritual health.Contribution: Divine and religious values and Islamic ethics have always been considered in Islamic communities, where formal and informal procedures are taken into consideration. An Islamic approach to management is combined with Islamic values, behaviours and ethics, and these values affect Islamic administration. Therefore, a proper understanding of Islamic values will help develop the right plan for human resource management, as well as the maintenance of organisational and community health.

Humans are multi-dimensional creatures. He seeks unity and balance in paradoxical dimensions. Gustav Jung, the psychologist, ventured into the world of psychoanalysis with Freud and discovered the recesses of the human soul which are structured between conscious and unconscious aspects. Religion in Gustav Jung's view is an unconscious and individual reality that can build human self-balance in the midst of paradoxical factions. Researchers try to discover the essence of Gustav Jung's basic concept about the nature of religion from Jung's perspective and the role of religion in human paradoxical reality. The research method used in this research is qualitative descriptive using Gustav Jung's psychoanalytic approach. The results of this research show that religion for Jung is a human self-projection of unity. Humans psychologically long to be in that unity or perfection. Selfprojection towards religion is appropriate because it is religion that has God as a reality that surpasses all human abilities.
