Abstract
To alleviate the environmental pollution caused by traditional fossil fuel sources, adopting electric vehicles (EVs) is considered a promising eco-friendly means to transport goods in seaport area. In addition, battery swapping could become an efficient energy-refueling means for EVs. Therefore, to improve the operation performance of seaport systems, this paper investigates an optimal battery swapping based vehicle scheduling method. Both vehicle scheduling system and energy management system are considered for seaport system operator. We model the joint decision-making of battery swapping based vehicle scheduling as a Markov decision process and apply reinforcement learning to develop a solution. Simulation experiments verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
