Abstract

In recent years, customers' interest in microgrids (which include distributed generation, energy storage systems, and local loads) has heightened due to its potential as a feasible renewable energy option in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. However, microgrid is such a type of electricity network, which may operate as island or grid mode depending on the upstream available generation of the power conditions. Battery energy storage system plays a crucial role for operation such microgrid frequency and voltage in a stable manner. So there are several new approaches to energy management studies have been increased. This study is showing that using battery energy management (BEM); the output power is controlled with the help of PI and fuzzy logic controller. Further such controlled techniques are performing well with the help of slime mould algorithm (SMA). Finally, the effectiveness of the controller designed using the BEM based SMA technique was verified under different loading conditions through MATLAB 2022b simulations environments.
