Abstract

The following 10 theses are derived from Bertell Ollman's 19 "Theses on the Capitalist State" (MR, December 1982): (1) The Capitalist State is a Bat. (2) Bats live in caves, where they sleep upside-down. But awake, they hunt and feed in the open air where they fly rightside-up. They search by sonar, destroy by force, and live off the blood of their prey. This article can also be found at the Monthly Review website, where most recent articles are published in full.Click here to purchase a PDF version of this article at the Monthly Review website.
