Abstract

Secure socket layer (SSL) is the most popular protocol to secure Internet communications.SSL servers are often overloaded with many simultaneous requests. The SSL handshake protocol uses public key cryptographic algorithms such as RSA algorithm . Since the most computationally expensive step in the handshake protocol is the RSA decryption in the servers. This paper introduces an improved Batch RSA algorithm (BMRSA- Batch Multi-Prime RSA) to speed up SSL handshake protocol. The theoretical value shows that the performance of the SSL handshake protocol has been substantially improved by the method.
