Abstract
In recent years, cancer stem cells (CSC) are found to conceive the ability of self-renewal, multiplication and inducible multi-directional differentiation just like normal stem cells. The basic theory con- cerning CSC origin of hematonosis and solid tumors including breast cancer, gliocytoma and gastrointestinal cancers has been partly proved and approved. However, few attention has been focused on malignant bone tumors originated from mesoderm and their probable CSC origin. The CSC origin of malignant bone tumors and related biological behaviors such as metastasis, recurrence and drug residence will be discussed in this article. Key words: Bone neoplasms; Tumor stem cells
