Abstract
Computed radiography was applied for one-shot dual-energy subtraction sialography. Basic studies using this technique were carried out to determine which elements would be suitable for possible use as contrast media in the clinical setting. Contrast media using elements with an atomic number close to 65 (terbium: Tb) were shown to be effective in subtraction of bone images. The results suggest that the development of a new contrast media using those elements would make the widespread clinical application of one-shot dual-energy subtraction sialography possible.
