Abstract
The basic hand surgery course is a three day intensive programme that aims to equip the clinician with a fundamental understanding of the key facets of hand surgery. The convenor is Fortune Iwuagwu, a consultant hand and plastic surgeon at Broomfield Hospital, and the faculty tutors are all consultants. This course is aimed primarily at junior surgical trainees (specialty training years 1-3) who deal with hand injuries, such as those in plastic surgery and orthopaedic surgery, but may also be useful for those in emergency medicine and general practice.
