Abstract

Abstract Basic considerations are described for a design of a speed control system of the static Scheribus induction motor system using a microprocessor as a controller. It is proved that three constraints should be taken into account in this system (1) Input dead time due to signal processing time in a microprocessor (2) Input variable constraint due to avoiding commutation failure of an inverter (3) State variable constraint due to limited capacities of thyristors or diodes Moreover, an employed control system design technique must be realizable for real time control by a microprocessor. A proposed improved optimal regulator technique is able to deal with above constraints, guarantees good steady state characteristics in spite of parameter variations of controlled object and of course is realizable for real time control by a microprocessor, though the synthesized control system is sub-optimal. This technique is also applicable to multi-input multi-output systems. An important simulation result obtained ...
