Abstract

In this paper we deal with a new type of accelerometer using the Coriolis force phenomenon. This accelerometer, which consists of a trident-type tuning fork resonator, is driven and its signal is detected by piezoelectric ceramics. In this study, two kinds of accelerometers are investigated. First, the construction and operating principle of the accelerometers proposed by us are described and, next, the experimental results of prototype accelerometers are presented. The results prove that the prototypes can basically operate as accelerometers.
