Abstract

The article is focused on the influence of the climate agenda on the policy of Arab oil-producing countries and the prospects for cooperation with them of Russia in general and Bashkortostan in particular. The authors investigate the transformation of the climate agenda into a mechanism used to compensate for the growing geopolitical influence of Arab oil-producing countries, including trends formed by global climate agreements to abandon hydrocarbon fuels and divestment in the oil industry. The article analyzes the new types of risks that have appeared in the oil industry in recent years and are tied to the climate agenda. Fundamentally new moments in the policy ofthe Persian Gulf countries in 2022 are revealed: an attempt to promote their own version of the climate agenda and «Net zero» concept.
